Depression

Why am I so deeply unhappy?

To Be Edited

Word has it that I only write here when I am upset.

That's not exactly untrue.

I have friends who are twins, and the brother is now in Afghanistan working for the Marines. This upsets his sister very much, and she's fallen into depression. I don't know how to help her.

Hemmingway drove an ambulance during the war and recovered from this Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) by writing about home. Would it help if I made sketches of places and buildings in the bay area and sent them to him weekly?

This September the twin sister is going to a Christian university in Indiana with their older sister. Us friends at home hope that she'll find and accept all the support she needs to get through. Yesterday was her birthday, and she didn't share it with her twin.

A Jewish friend is upset over her best friend's betrayal, and feels very, very insecure in her new relationship with a boy whom she adores, and who adores her.

Today I learned that the twin brother had been put on suicide watch because he seemed gloomy, and one of his troop mate suicided.

There's a young student from my high school facing her girlfriend's parents' disapproval of homosexuality. She's upset that the parents aren't understanding and might split them, and she's scared and hurt that her girlfriend might turn away from her due to her parents wishes, or by her own wishes to love her parents.

There are so many psychological pains in our world today, pains that makes me think there's not just a physical war in Iraq and Afghanistan, there's also a war within the peaceful society.

And things stay the same.

But I am relishing my right to anti-sociality.
